What is a static IP address
DSL Highspeed Internet Access
A static IP address is a dedicated, unique address that has been assigned to a
given computer or server for an extended period of time. Static IP addresses are
needed for e-mail and web servers so that users on the Internet can always
access the same server using the same IP address or domain name.
